Distant Screams, my final Team Arena map became my passion. Terrain style mapping was so different, so challenging and exciting that it just caught me up and swept me away. The architectural style in Distant Screams came from my explorations in a mock classical style …tall fluted pillars supporting very stylized entablatures. With this, I was able to create a temple-like capture the flag base, castle and fort structures with a style that now reminds me of Crusader forts spreading across mountainsides, and a weird Stonehenge circle of pillars and entablature surrounding bobbing menhirs here in the map’s center (seen here in the distance).
