Apokermis Now! - acrylics on bristol paper - 17"

Apparently, the word "kermis" is Greek
for "Party" (or so I was told). This Ghostbusters adventure
was about the apocalyptic party at the end of the world, brought on by
the four riders of the Apokermis (Apocalypse + Kermis = Apokermis). The
art director on this Ghostbusters adventure wanted the viewer to be reminded
of Frank Frazetta's Death Dealer painting (a sinister warrior on a massive
horse). Except that the rider was a pudgy demon bringing junk food, and
he rode a demonic frog, and they were both a bright fire engine red. When
I did this painting, I was mixing neutral grays into my colors, a technique
I moved away from after several paintings. A good choice as it left colors
very lifeless.
