I rendered this piece in a fairly time-consuming
style I had developed that involved using India ink like it was watercolor.
Tones were built up with layer after painstaking layer of ink washes.
Most of my best black and white pieces during the late 80s and early 90s
were done in this manner. This illustration was commissioned for Dragon
Magazine and accompanied one of their fiction pieces.
